POST FALLS, IDAHO - Jimmy Hansen, Matt Henderson, and Bob Kronenberg were the big winners Tuesday night when Northwest Legends Speedweek made its second stop of the series at Stateline Stadium Speedway in Post Falls, Idaho.
Indiana's Jimmy Hansen dominated the Pro division portion of the event setting fast time and winning the 50-lap main event nearly unchallenged. The win was Hansen's second of the week in pursuit of the national point's title.
Montana's John Hilliker charged to a second place finish followed by Rowan Carey of Washington, who pressured Hansen early in the race and at mid race restarts.
National point's chaser Jeremiah Wagner of Nevada was the winner of the heat race passing Scott Dala in opening laps and out ran a late race charge by Duane Swanson for the victory. Wagner finished fourth in the main event.
Matt Henderson went from hauled off the track by a tow truck in a heat race to victory lane in the 50-lap feature for the Semi Pro division. Henderson was one of six cars involved in a lap four crash on the front stretch during a heat race.
Henderson held a five car lead in the main event for the top spot. Dash and heat winner Joey Bisset challenged on a restart with less than ten laps to go but finished second. Tyfini West finished third followed by Ben Matheson.
AJ Butler and David Peppel ran as high as the top three but touched heading into turn two, spinning, and bringing out the caution on lap 41. Butler finished fifth, Peppel sixth.
Bob Kronenberg outdueled fast time and dash winner Randy Schaaf for the win in the Master's division 50-lap main event. Kronenberg also won the eight lap heat race. Don Sanderson finished third followed by Joe Wilkerson and California's David Fisher.
Mike Hilliker, Giles Thornton, and Addie Thornton participated in Bandolero exhibition racing.
Northwest Legends Speedweeks began in Roseburg, Oregon will race Wednesday night at Ronan, Montana and will conclude at Montana Raceway Park for the annual running of Legends Thunder.
