Weather Doesn't Stop Winter Heat Excitement

HARRISBURG, N.C. - Despite periods of cold rain, the threat of snow and chilly temperatures, more than 105 cars were on hand for round 6 of the INEX Winter Heat Series at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

The Bandolero divisions took to the track early to beat the weather threat. Angie Donahue took home the victory in the Beginner Bandits division for her first victory.

Matt Wallace was the winner in the Bandolero Bandits, beating frontrunner Blake Jones, Sean Shalvoy, Mason Hudson and Kyle Weatherman. It was Walllace's first victory on the Winter Heat Series.

Matt Linker was able to dethrone the Ryan Glenski-Chad Finchum juggernaut on the Young Guns class, collecting his first Winter Heat victory. Tyler Lester was second with Corey Gordon, Timmy Hill and Glenski following.

Kendall Sellers continued his dominance in the Outlaws division, winning his fourth winner's trophy in five races. Bailey Daniels was second with Dawn Eagens, Jason Wells and newcomer Ashley Hillenburg following.

Drew Calhoun took the victory in the Thunder Roadster divisions over Jesse Bunnell, Steve Carter and Benny Mingo.

Jimmy Heavlow has been virtually unstoppable in the RACEceiver Legends Young Lions division during the Winter Heat Series. He won his fourth straight race, and has yet to finish outside the top two in the first six races. Ryan Truex was second with Austin Leitner, Devin Jones and Ronnie Bassett, Jr. following.

Clay Hair was again the top Masters driver on Saturday, beating Eddie Harwell, John Davis, Steve Beck and Jeff Turner.

Jordan Penninger took his new No. 29 ride out for a spin on Saturday, and claimed the victory in the Semi-Pro division. Gene Kirila, Steven Ross, Matt Lundstrom and Kyle Pierce rounded out the top five.
