Goess Grabs PRI Trophy

ORLANDO, Fla. - Craig Goess, Jr. isn't used to coming in second at big events for the RACEceiver Legends Cars, so there was little doubt that the second-place finish in last year's Mopar PRI Legends Invitational was a source of frustration for the 26-year-old driver.

He would not be denied in 2007, passing 2005 winner and Orlando Speedworld regular, Kory Abbott on lap 13, and leading the remainder of the 20-lap event. Abbott followed Goess under the checkered flag .301 seconds later.

"Anything can happen at Orlando," Goess said. "The guy in front is in the worst position that you could possibly be in. You never know what to expect."

Goess will concentrate on competing in the NASCAR Busch East Series in 2008.

Blake Brown was third with Brandon Thomson and Andrew Smith rounding out the top five.

The finish: Craig Goess, Jr., Kory Abbott, Blake Brown, Brandon Thomson, Andrew Smith, Chelsea Schillig, Christian Pahud, Duncan Molesworth, Ryan Ellis, Josh Williams, Jimmy Norman, Dylan Ames, John Hilker, Alex Kempf, Mike Verhaagh, Michael Bilderback, Shaughn McCormick, David Tart, Jason Powers, Jimmy Hanson, Gary Bursey, Darin Coker.
