INEX Oval Champions Announced


Casey Roderick

HARRISBURG, N.C. - More than 2000 competitors competed in the 2007 INEX oval track series during March 16-Sept. 23.

RACEceiver Legends Pro Asphalt

The 2007 RACEceiver Legends Pro Asphalt title came down to a battle between two teenagers. Casey Roderick, 14, has been one of the hottest drivers in Legends Car racing for the past two seasons.

Roderick held off hard-charging Jordan Anderson, 16, for the championship by just six points. Roderick won the title on the strength of 17 victories including 16 100-pointers. He raced 39 times.

Anderson had 19 divisional victories including 14 100-pointers in 47 races to finish second.

RACEceiver Legends Masters Asphalt

Clay Hair is always the man to beat anywhere he races, and 2007 was no exception. Hair won the championship for the second straight season on the strength of 31 victories with 25 100-point totals. He races 38 times.

Minnesota dealer Tim Brockhouse gave it a valiant effort for second place with 22 divisional trophies with 15 100-point victories in 32 races.

RACEceiver Legends Semi-Pro Asphalt

John Stancill, 15, was nearly unstoppable in Semi-Pro competition with 27 100-point victories in 51 races. He beat Jason Richardson by three points. Richardson collected 25 divisional victories scoring 24 100-pointers in 44 races.

Young Lions Special Recognition

Blake Brown, 15, was the class of the Young Lions, collecting 21 overall victories in combined races to receive the maximum bonus points.

RACEceiver Legends Pro Dirt

Cam Schafer, 16, was the 2006 Young Lions Dirt champion, and runner-up for the Semi-Pro title which ended in a tie-breaker. Second wasn't good enough for Schafer in 2007. He beat 2006 Semi-Pro Dirt champion, Steven Nederostek, with 24 divisional victories and 18 100-pointers in 32 races.

Nederostek won seven times in 39 races.

RACEceiver Legends Masters Dirt

Randy Kissinger, the 2004 Semi-Pro Dirt champion, dethroned reigning Masters champion, Eric Barth. Barth has had a juggernaut on the Masters division for the past two seasons.

Kissinger won 13 times, all 100-pointers in 37 races to take the title. Barth was second with eight 100-point victories and 11 divisional victories in 24 races.

RACEceiver Legends Semi-Pro Dirt

Nathan Speten became the first Legends champion from North Dakota with his Semi-Pro championship. He won 19 divisional races with 17 100-point victories in 33 races.

Young Lions Special Recognition

Dylan Harris collected five victories with two overall victories in combined races to collect the Young Lions championship.

Bandolero Bandits

Bassett is a name always at the top of the Bandolero standings, and this year was no exception.

Dillon Bassett followed in older brother, Ronnie's footsteps, winning the Bandolero Bandits title to keep it in the family for the second straight season.

Dillon collected 27 victories with 23 100-pointers in 71 races this season. While he couldn't quite keep pace with the Bassetts, Bayley Currey had a great season to finish in second with 18 victories in 54 races.

Bandolero Young Guns

Ronnie Bassett, Jr. couldn't let his little brother have all the fun. Ronnie collected his second straight Bandolero championship, moving to the Young Guns division at the beginning of the season.

The familiar No. 04 was up front all season as he collected 31 divisional victories with 26 100-point wins in 70 races. Ronnie will move to Legends in 2008.

Bryce Walker gave it all he had in second with 17 victories in 27 races.

Bandolero Outlaws

Kendall Sellars proved his move from the Young Guns division was the right one by dominating Outlaws competition in 2007. He won 31 times with 19 100-point victories in 43 races.

Nathan Rodgers won nine times in 48 races to finish second.

Thunder Roadster Oval

Justin Long won 13 races in 38 starts to collect the Thunder Roadster championship, but faced some serious competition from Ed Hohman, who collected 11 victories in 26 races to finish second.
