Indiana's Wednesday Wars Begin

The KOIL Tour will debut its first mid-week racing series in the six-year history of the tour. The nine-week "Wednesday Wars" series will kick off June 6 at the quarter-mile Sportsdrome Speedway in Jeffersonville, Ind., and feature RACEceiver Legends and Bandoleros in addition to other racing.

"We have to thank Mike Gibson at the Sportsdrome for promoting these Wednesday night races," said KOIL Tour promoter James Michael Spink. "This is something we have been trying to do for a while and this year it all worked out. "Wednesday Wars" will no doubt be a fun and exciting series and will showcase our drivers in front of the greater Louisville market and will be the KOIL Tour's version of the Lowe's Motor Speedway's Summer Shootout."

A driver's best seven races will count towards the "Wednesday Wars" point championship. There will be a point fund for RACEceiver Legends drivers at the end of the nine weeks as well as special trophies honoring the top-five drivers in Legends and Bandoleros at the season-ending KOIL Tour banquet.

The Wednesday Wars series will run June 6, 13, 20, 27; July 11, 18, 25; and Aug. 1, 8. Gates will open at 5 pm with practice starting at 6 pm and racing at 7 pm. The racing program will consist of heats and features for the Legends and Bandolero Cars.
