HARRISBURG, N.C. - INEX officials have announced the dates for the 2007 INEX National Events calendar.

The first national event will be the 9th Annual Briggs & Stratton Bandolero and Young Lions Nationals. The event will be Aug. 31-Sept. 2 at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Ky for the second straight year.

"Last year's Bandolero and Young Lions Nationals was one of the best we've ever had," said Darrel Krentz, executive director of INEX. "Kentucky Speedway is a great venue for this event, and we expect this year's Nationals to be even better."

The 11th Annual RACEceiver Legends Car Dirt Nationals will move from its tradition October date to Sept. 20-22. Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Missouri will host the event with backing from Allstate. The earlier date will make the Dirt Nationals part of the national points season for the first time in history. It will count as a championship race, and can count as a driver's 20th race.

"I am really excited about the Dirt Nationals being part of the point season in 2007," Krentz said. "For the first time, a national dirt championship may come down to the last lap of the Dirt Nationals. The World Finals Road Course Nationals has used this format for years, and it always provides great drama and ultra-competitive races."

The 16th Annual RACEceiver Legends Car and 7th Annual Thunder Roadster Asphalt Nationals is scheduled at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for Oct. 11-13.

"The Bullring is a perfect venue for the Asphalt Nationals, and the event in 2004 was one of the best Asphalt Nationals in history," said Krentz.

The final national event of 2007 will be the 11th Annual RACEceiver Legends Car and Thunder Roadster World Finals at Infineon Raceway Nov. 8-10. This year's World Finals will be staffed by the officials at NASA.

"The World Finals is always a great event, and Infineon Raceway is the perfect place for all the road racers to show off their talent," Krentz said. "This year, with the help of NASA, we hope to resolve some of the operational issues we had last year."

NASA will provide timing and scoring as well as race day support to the INEX team during the event.
